Problem/Opportunity:


Privately held health insurance payor organization needed a way to quantitatively assess their leadership and executive talent pools.  Not only was the CEO three years away from retirement but there was also a need to identify internal candidates for other key executive positions


 


Solution:


Successfully planned and implemented internal Leadership 360 Degree Feedback and Coaching Program.  Working with HR Leadership team and Executive  Committee, assessment and development planning processes were designed, a 360 vendor was selected and all leaders and respondents were trained on the processes and tools.  A communications plan was developed to support the assessment strategy to ensure overall high response rates.


 


Results:



  • Customized competency profiles for senior leadership positions

  • Identification of strengths and development needs of managers and executives

  • Identification of Top 10% of leaders against pre-defined competency profile

  • Targeted development plans based on data from assessment reports

  • Process used for CEO replacement 18 months later (internal candidate selected)

  • Very positive reaction to processes, tool and training
